Dr. Ahmed M. Bayoumi is a health services researcher and general internist. His primary research interest is studying the delivery of health services, particularly to people living with HIV. Dr. Bayoumi's research encompasses several different methods and approaches to study these questions. He uses the tools of decision analysis and health economics to study how resources can be most efficiently used. He has an interest in quality of life and utility assessment, which stems from his interest in measuring the outcomes of interventions. He uses web-based survey methods to study questions such as the issue of fairness in health policy decision making. Finally, he works with a large observational database of people living with HIV, focusing on issues of access to HIV-related interventions.
