Alex Haines, MSc
Current Position and Professional Functions
Alex Haines is a health economist at THETA Collaborative. He will be evaluating the cost effectiveness of hepatitis C screening, whilst providing health economic insight into various on-going projects within the department.
Education and Training
Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of East Anglia and a Master's Degree in Health Economics from the University of York in the UK. Prior to joining THETA he worked in the UK for 3 and a half years leading health economic evaluations for several national guidelines produced by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).
Research Interests and Expertise
Alex’s research interests are in the area of health economic evaluation and in particular the application of health economics and evidence based healthcare to inform policy decisions. He is also interested in teaching health economics and has run workshops and produced e-learning courses in the past.
