Ann-Sylvia Brooker, MSc, PhD
Current Position and Professional Functions
Dr. Brooker is a health research consultant who works for a number of organizations such as THETA, CADTH and CIW.
She is part of the Canadian Research Advisory Group of the CIW, an advisory body of world class Canadian researchers and experts.
Education and Training
Dr. Brooker completed a Master’s Degree in Science (Epidemiology) at the University of Toronto and a PhD (Dalla Lana School of Public Health) at the University of Toronto specializing in qualitative methods and sociology of health. She was awarded a number of awards and fellowships such as: the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada doctoral fellowship, the Connaught-Wilson Fellowship and the University of Toronto Open Fellowship.
Research Interests and Expertise:
Dr. Brooker has a number of research interests that relate to her multi-disciplinary training such as: patient preferences, health services research and evaluation, social determinants of health, the relationship between organizational culture and health care, and, the use of qualitative methods to understand complex interventions.
