Beate Sander, RN, MBA, MEcDev, PhD
Dr. Sander is a Scientist with Public Health Ontario (PHO), and Assistant Professor at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, University of Toronto. Beate's primary research interest is the economic evaluation of health care programs applied to public health interventions, particularly vaccine-preventable diseases. Recent work includes an economic evaluation of Ontario's Universal Influenza Immunization Program and economic evaluations of pandemic influenza mitigation strategies in Canada and the US. Her research encompasses several different methods and approaches to study these questions. She uses tools of decision analysis, health economics and mathematical modeling to determine efficient resource use. Beate has a special interest in advanced modeling methods and the use of administrative data for health and economic evaluation.
