David Chartash, BEngSc, MHSc (Candidate)
David is an electrical engineer by training, clinical engineer by research training, supervised by Dr. Joseph Cafazzo at the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation at Toronto General Hospital (part of the University Health Network). His current research includes investigating the creation and use of algorithms in critical care practice, as well as medical data security and complications surrounding its integration into the standard hospital care paradigm. Other areas of interest include engineering (design) education, client based distributed networking within the hospital via general purpose computing, and health technology assessment via the fusion of economic and engineering methodologies. As part of his Master of Health Science in Clinical Engineering, he is working at THETA on modelling solutions for cost-effectiveness analysis.
