Current Position and Professional Functions
Gemma is a qualitative researcher at THETA collaborative. She is currently conducting qualitative research for a multi-level evaluation study: Program Evaluation of Telehomecare for Patients with Heart Failure or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. 
Education and Training
Gemma completed the BHSc (Honours) Program at McMaster University and a MA in Gender Studies at the University of British Columbia.  
Research Interests and Expertise

Gemma has extensive experience in qualitative health research and knowledge translation for academic and non-profit organizations, as well as government (at the provincial and federal levels).  Her expertise lies in the application of critical equity-oriented frameworks which seek to contextualize health as situated by multiple socio-structural, historical, and economic factors. She is particularly interested in how health issues such as mental health and substance use are understood, framed, and responded to within health and social policies.
