Suzanne Chung, BFA, BEd, CCRP
Research Interests and Expertise
Ms. Chung’s research expertise lies in study launch, REB, GCP, designing electronic data capture (REDCap, Medidata RAVE Solution, DataFax), data management, retrospective chart review, systematic review and multi-site team collaboration. Her research interests are in the area of COPD, bladder cancer, obstructive sleep apnea, atrial fibrillation, sudden death, out of hospital cardiac arrest, clinical trials, mixed methods field evaluation, data management, quality assurance and knowledge translation.
At THETA Collaborative, Ms. Chung has been involved in the area of health-related quality of life and utility (bladder cancer, chronic hepatitis C), evaluation of complex interventions (devices and services) chronic disease management and randomized clinical trials.
Ms. Chung has experience in large clinical trials involving pre-hospital and in-hospital research studies. She was a part of the Resuscitation Outcome Consortium (ROC) Toronto network within Rescu, a research program focusing on interventions that improve outcomes for patients who suffer life threatening trauma and cardiac emergencies in the out of hospital setting. She has also worked on a multi-centre retrospective chart review study for patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF)/Flutter in Emergency care in 10 Greater Toronto Area hospitals and a quality assurance study for the management of AF/Flutter in the AF clinics. She recently completed a multi-site pragmatic randomized controlled trial titled, SIESTA - Home Sleep Study with BresoDx® Portable Monitor for the Diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnea evaluating the accuracy of the clinical diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) informed by the home sleep study with a Type 4 portable monitor BresoDx® versus overnight Type 1 polysomnography (PSG).
