Education and Training

Dr. Slater completed a Master's degree in Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary and received her PhD at the University of Toronto, Institute of Medical Sciences. She has over 10 years of clinical research experience. During her graduate studies and postdoctoral training, Morgan has won many awards including a Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarship Doctoral Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Dr. Slater was recently awarded a CIHR Health System Impact Fellowship and an Education Fund Fellowship from the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research.

Research Interests and Expertise

Dr. Slater has established expertise in clinical research methods, including quantitative analyses. Her research interests are in the area of health services research, health technology assessment, complex health interventions and program evaluations. Her current program of research focuses on understanding and optimizing evidence-based, patient-centred care provided by heart failure clinics.
