Arlene Nugent is a part-time PhD student in the Heath Services Research, Health Technology Assessment stream, at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME), University of Toronto.

Research Interests and Expertise

Arlene has held positions within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry in regulatory affairs, scientific affairs (clinical research and development) and medical affairs, for the past 17 years. She has worked in many different disease areas including oncology, hematology, hepatology, neurology, renal, rare orphan diseases and osteoarthritis. Arlene's current full-time position manages an in-field team of MSLs in the area of hepatology, who deliver the scientific messaging around the disease area and treatments for viral hepatitis. Her research interest includes how we can better understand and use patient input data (experiences, preferences and values) when making treatment decisions at the HTA level.
