BRU Director, Senior Biostatistician
Current Position and Professional Functions
George Tomlinson is the director of the BRU, a scientist in the Department of Medicine at UHN/Mt Sinai Hospital and an Associate Professor in the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, in the Division of Biostatistics at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, and in the Departments of Medicine and Medical Imaging, all at the University of Toronto.
Education and Training
George has a PhD in biostatistics from the University of Toronto and over 20 years of experience in design and analysis of medical research. His PhD was in the area of Bayesian hierarchical models and he promotes the use of the Bayesian approach to data analysis, as there are many situations where it can solve problems that are difficult to solve using traditional approaches.
