Visiting scholar, Richard Ssegonja, PhD (c) from Uppsala University, Sweden, completed a 3-week term at THETA under the supervision of Dr. Murray Krahn with a focus on assessing the cost-effectiveness of an indicated preventive intervention for depression in adolescents using health economics modelling methods.
Richard had this to say about his experience with us:
“THETA is a wonderful research community with many resourceful people that are willing to both help and teach. I had great help with the travel paper work and appropriate visa information, thanks to Karen. While at THETA I focused my efforts on learning as much as possible. I received timely supervision and guidance from Dr. Murray Krahn. I maintained the work relationship/collaboration with THETA even after the research stay. Dr. Murray Krahn, my research team and I continued to work on a research article together. The after work hangouts and the trip to Niagara Falls were memorable.”
Richard continues in his role as a Health Economist for NordIQ Analytics in Stockholm alongside his studies and we wish him the best in all his endeavours.
