Current Position and Professional Functions

Dr. Wodchis is a Professor at the Institute for Health Policy Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto, Research Chair in Implementation and Evaluation Science at the Institute for Better Health, Trillium Health Partners, Principal Investigator for the Health System Performance Network and Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences

Education and Training

Dr. Wodchis earned his doctorate in Health Services Organization and Policy (Health Economics), and a Masters of Applied Economics from the University of Michigan. He also has a Masters of Arts in Gerontology and a Bachelor of Math in Actuarial Science from the University of Waterloo.

Research Interests and Expertise

Dr. Wodchis' focus is healthcare finance and economics. His research has focused on quality of life assessment, cost and quality and payment incentives in health care. Dr. Wodchis' current research projects include international comparisons of high cost patients; understanding the costs, needs and complexities associated with the development and mitigation approaches to the rapidly increasing population of individuals with multiple chronic conditions; and evaluating large-scale policy initiatives aimed to improve the integration of care and focused on population-based, person-centred health care solutions.
